Thailand Toy Expo was held in Bangkok from 4 – 7 May 2017. Since our trip was very spontaneous, fortune smiled at us for being there on time. Honestly speaking, I felt so much better inside such a nerdy place more than on the street. The feeling is like at home with many amazing brethren surround ^^
Please do not take the word “Toy” as playing things for kids. Toy Expo focused on anime action figures, Nendoroids, and especially original figures sculpted by Thai artists.
When we were there, Bunny only captured what interested her for she had no intention of writing, thus our photos would not be good. I would like to apologize for that.
The Expo was divided into two separate sections in front of Central World, mayhap the biggest shopping mall in Bangkok. Next to the Expo was outdoor food court which Bunny said she didn’t fancy due to the sweet taste.
The first section was for Hearthstone and action figures from anime and some video games. Hearthstone arena took the largest area right at the entrance. However, since not the game’s fan, the figures’ collections got all of Bunny’s attention.
There were many booths selling action figures and Nendoroid on one side of the section, but because Bunny had no intention to bring anything home, she didn’t mind the prices.
Warning: This post may take longer to load all the photos.
The center area was the stage of many miniature collections which were definitely stunning. Also resided at the middle of the place was a big booth of an art school, where people can enroll to learn digital painting, sculpting, and other skills which I don’t remember. An artist was demonstrating her digital painting with a big screen.
One thing I noted is the Expo didn’t attract many people. We were there on Saturday’s afternoon but still had free space to take pictures, no booth was surrounded by young fans.
So these are photos of the first section. I will upload the artists’ section with many splendid statues in another post, for example:
